Public service advertisements (PSAs) featuring characters from the new film The Boxtrolls are appearing on participating television and radio stations. The PSAs direct audiences to visit theAdoptUSKids website or call our toll-free number to receive current, accurate information about the foster care system and the adoption process.
The Boxtrolls is a family-event movie from LAIKA, the creators of the Academy Award-nominated animated features Coraline and ParaNorman. The Boxtrolls introduces audiences to a new breed of family — the Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised a human boy named Eggs.
The Boxtrolls PSAs encourage prospective parents to consider adopting teens from foster care and reaffirm the notion that “thousands of teens in foster care don’t need perfection; they just need you.”
These new PSAs are an extension of a national campaign on adoption from foster care. Since 2004, AdoptUSKids, along with the U.S. Children’s Bureau, has partnered with the Ad Council to produce public service advertising campaigns encouraging the adoption of children from foster care.
