The Post-Adoption Resource Center
Presents
“Is it ADHD (or Anxiety or Trauma or Sensory Issues..)?”
Presenter: Jennifer Robers Miller, M.S., LPC
When our children have behavioral issues, it can be difficult to determine why they are happening. This is especially true when children have been adopted and we have little to no information about their birth family history, trauma history, and behaviors prior to placement. Lack of information can lead even professionals to misdiagnose, or struggle to treat behaviors. According to the CDC, 5.9 million children in the US have been diagnosed with ADHD! Yet many children do not respond to ADHD medication. Why does this happen? If even the professionals are struggling, what’s a family to do? This workshop will help answer those questions and more!
Friday, December 5th
