 Children do best when they know the truth about their lives. Sharing difficult information with children is not easy. This interactive workshop will give you the tools and strategies to discuss the most challenging situations (e.g., abuse, parental incarceration, death, HIV, incest, termination of parental rights) with children of all ages. Please bring your challenging questions to the session. No topic is off limits!

The Presenter: Barry Chaffkin, LCSW/Co-Founder & CEO, Fostering Change for Children Barry presents at New York State and national conferences each year, and is a recognized expert in child welfare. He is responsible for over 900 adoptions and over 900 reunifications in his 28-year career. In addition to his responsibilities with Fostering Change for Children, he is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Columbia University School of Social Work and sits on the advisory committee for the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute and the Treehouse Foundation.
