Adoption Choice Inc.’s first Annual Adoptive Family Picnic on August 17, 2019 was a huge success! The day was filled with families and children getting to know each other and connecting. Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac provided the perfect backdrop for a day of fun by the water and on the playgrounds! A huge thank you to Texas Roadhouse and our adoptive families for providing delicious food, deserts, and drinks! We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

Once again, Adoption Choice, Inc. was able to provide information and outreach to school counselors throughout Wisconsin at the Wisconsin School Counselor Association Annual Conference in Madison on February 6 and 7, 2019. This year, Beth and Angie provided a workshop on Understanding Trauma through the Lens of an Adopted Person.

In addition, one lucky attendee was the recipient of a family basket filled with lots of fun items!

Adoption Choice, Inc. was in attendance at the Milwaukee Pride Fest in the Health and Wellness Area on June 7, 8 and 9th, 2019! We enjoyed meeting many new people and sharing information on adoption and our agency.

Adoption Choice, Inc. made an appearance on June 22nd at Open Door Pride this year! Lindsay had great conversations with attendees about adoption stories! We look forward to future years.

Adoption Choice, Inc. was excited to be a part of the Northwoods Pride Festival this year on June 29th, 2019 in Rhinelander. Adoption counselor, Jennifer, met many great community members and made new connections!

It was a great first year at Madison’s Outreach Magic Festival on August 18th! Adoption Choice staff Claire and Shari met lots of people and shared information on the agency and adoption.

Belly to Baby Event: March 24, 2018,   Tiana attended, sponsored by Green Bay Doulas.  The event brings together local businesses and community resources for those expecting and growing families in the Green Bay area

Green Bay NEW Pride Alive: July 15, 2018:  Jaime and Tiana attended.  An event to celebrate the LGBT population and provide information on community resources.

Green Bay National Nite Out:  August 7, 2018:  Chris attended.  An effort to get neighbors together to educate on community resources and how to keep your neighborhoods safe.

Find Your Inspiration Event, October 10, 2018:  Adoption Choice staff volunteered in the community today helping area 8th graders explore careers of Greater Green Bay. We had a blast discussing how to “Dress for Success”!!

Beth, Angie and Shari were in attendance at the 44th Annual Conference of Social Workers in Milwaukee on October 16th and 17th.  Social Workers from all over Wisconsin and from all disciplines were in attendance. Adoption Choice enjoyed meeting new contacts and learning about other community resources.

October 18, 2018: Amy from Adoption Choice, Inc. recently provided information on adoption and our services at the Dodge County Women’s Expo in Beaver Dam. One of the area’s most popular business to consumer events, created especially for Women. Booths highlighted a variety local businesses, including health and fitness, retail, home based businesses, non-profit organizations and more, plus food, wine and was lots of FUN! Sandy Abel was the lucky winner of ACI’s basket with a blanket, bear and bottle of wine!

Heart of Canal Street Program Recipients: December 2018 

Adoption Choice, Inc. is pleased to announce we were once again chosen as a recipient of funds from the Heart of Canal St. program, which has donated over 18 million dollars to charities in Wisconsin. These funds will allow Adoption Choice, Inc. to assist families who qualify with funding a portion of their adoption, assist birth parents will schooling and provide life books to children adopted through the agency. Thank you to Heart of Canal for making this possible!

Adoption Choice, Inc. receives gifts from local elementary school!

Recently, Assistant Director, Beth Garbe, had the privilege of receiving some handmade gifts from a couple 5th grade students at Chappell Elementary School in Green Bay.

On May 24, 2017, Assistant Director, Beth Garbe, was invited to come to Chappell Elementary School in Green Bay to receive a special gift.

Fifth grade teacher, Kelly Hohman, greeted them along with a group of students. These students had chosen to research the topic of adoption for their exhibition project.  Without any assistance, these curious students found the Adoption Choice, Inc. website and located our agency wish list.  They wanted to do more than their assignment required and wanted to make a difference.  It was agreed upon within this group that they would make cork boards for the agency.

After answering some of their questions regarding adoption, Beth was presented with the beautifully made cork boards and explained they are to be given to the next four children who are adopted “So they can hang pictures of their birth family and adoptive family and always have them close”, said one of the students.

We have some adoption finalization court hearings occurring in June and those children will be the lucky recipients of the special cork boards!
