State of Wisconsin Required Live Training
The State of Wisconsin requires 25 hours of Adoptive Parent Education for an approved home study. Six of these hours must be fulfilled via a live training, either through an in-person seminar or an online webinar. This live training touches on core competencies such as Child Sexual Abuse, Effects of Trauma, Attachment, Substance Use In-Utero, Legal Issues, and Openness in Adoption, among others. Adoption Choice, Inc. believes adoptive families benefit more from an in-person training as opposed to a Zoom-like experience, particularly due to the nature of the topics covered. We have personally developed a six-hour, one-day seminar to fulfill this live training requirement. Adopting parents who have contracted with Adoption Choice, Inc. for their home study are required to attend this in-person training and will receive priority slots. Families from other Wisconsin home study agencies are welcome to join, space permitting.
