Shakyla has earned her master’s degree in Social Work, with a focus in Family and Child Welfare, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the ACI team, Shakyla has worked in the hospital systems, home health/hospice, a nursing home, and child and adult protective services. Throughout her career, Shakyla worked part-time with another adoption agency for three years prior to joining ACI. Shakyla maintains her license as a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin.
Shakyla is drawn to the adoption world as she, herself, was adopted. Shakyla is responsible for our clients in the southwestern portion of the state and looks forward to supporting, guiding, and advocating for birth and adoptive parents and families. In addition, she is eager to engage in community outreach. Personally, Shakyla enjoys traveling, gardening, UTV riding (really anything outdoors!) and spending time with her husband, daughters, and three dogs.
If you are an expectant parent or birth parent and have any questions about the adoption process, please call an Adoption Counselor at 414-550-2374, or send us a text message. A counselor is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. In no way does contacting us commit you to an adoption plan; it simply allows us to help provide you some information to help you make a decision that is in you and your child’s best interest.
If you are an adoptive parent and have questions about the process, please call one of our locations to speak with an Adoption Choice, Inc. staff member.
